DRESSED TO IMPRESS: COSTUME
PINK CHIFFON OUTER GOWN WITH FEATHERS AND RHINESTONES
1975-79, Designer: Jean Louis, Gift of Marge Padgitt
Multiple layers of diaphanous chiffon create a voluminous skirt on this playful outer gown worn by Ginger Rogers during her nightclub revue The Ginger Rogers Show from 1975-79. In her trademark color of pink, the garment’s full sleeves feature another trademark element of Rogers’ style: feathers which are very similar to those accenting Roger’s pink feathered garment from the 1940s.
