Exhibitions

MHCTC develops exhibitions and programs with campus and community museums, departments and institutions to encourage use of Collection artifacts. Annual exhibitions in the Abigail and Nicholas Filippello Exhibition Showcase in Gwynn Hall include the TAM Student Showcase for TAM‘s spring Advisory Board and summer and fall exhibits of the Curator’s choice.

Visitors are welcome to view the current exhibit in Gwynn Hall Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.–6 p.m. in accordance with the University calendar.

W[A]RN and TRANSFORMED: Uniforms as Stories of U.S.

W[A]RN and TRANSFORMED: Uniforms as Stories of U.S. commemorates the 250th anniversary of the United States as represented through stories and experiences woven within the fibers of the American military uniform. A century of uniforms are showcased alongside war-era posters, contemporary paper artworks and MU student apparel designs made with military uniforms transformed into handmade paper called Combat Paper. Guests are invited to write their wishes for America’s future on the exhibition’s “Wish Wall.”

A public reception will be held April 11 from 10 a.m. to noon and includes a panel program with veterans Drew Cameron of Combat Paper, Martin Lesinksi and John Schneider of the U.S. Armed Services whose paper artworks are featured in the exhibition. Learn more.
